Stroke is a global health concern where it has significant economic implications and poses a major challenge to public health systems and society. In combating this issue, scientometric analysis is one of the tools that can be used to discern prevailing trends and gauge the influence of research endeavors. This scientometric study on embolic stroke was conducted using the narrative review in Web of Science Core Collection (WoS) from 1965 to 2023. Along these lines, the number of articles, citations and countries regarding this issue were determined and the sigma score and cluster of the articles were analyzed using CiteSpace software. A total of 3731 articles were found regarding this issue in WoS. Among the countries that have published papers regarding this issue, The United States of America (USA) has contributed the most (35%). Papers by Hart RG have been cited the most as the number 1, 2 and 3 most cited papers. Most of the Top 10 Most Cited papers were regarding prevention and early treatment of stroke. Out of the major cluster of papers, the top cluster was regarding embolic stroke/platelet study. As stroke is a large topic, we have discovered many significant clusters with shared features through this study, offering a targeted direction for more research and potential advancements in studies connected to stroke.
