Abstract

Telelactation services refer to breastfeeding counseling services that are delivered remotely through telehealth technology. Telelactation services can connect breastfeeding mothers with remote lactation counselors via audio-visual technology, increasing access to professional breastfeeding support. Two-way video consultations for breastfeeding education can be increased with telelactation. This study uses bibliometrics to analyze publication trends in telelactation services. Telelactation service studies used topic areas, titles, keywords, and abstract criteria as a reference for searching result extraction. The extraction of search results was conducted using VOSviewer version 1.6.20. The Scopus database accessed on March 4, 2024, contained 198 articles that were analyzed further using bibliometric mapping. The most frequently discussed topics include telemedicine, telehealth, breastfeeding, breastfeeding education, and pregnancy. After analyzing the available literature on telelactation services using VOSviewer, limited research on this topic was discovered. This statement indicates an opportunity for researchers who wish to develop telelactation. It is important to research various telelactation models, such as combinations of multiple models.
